Job Summary:

Schlegel Villages is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Team Member to join our team. As a key member of our Village, you will play a vital role in delivering holistic services to our residents, fostering exemplary relationships with residents, their families, and the Village team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional care and support to residents with geriatric needs, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to understand residents' individual needs and deliver tailored services.
  • Develop and implement engaging recreational programs that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, their families, and the Village team, ensuring a seamless and supportive care experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in gerontology and recreational therapy, applying this knowledge to enhance our services.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with geriatric populations and a strong understanding of their unique needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Enrolled in or completed a diploma or degree in recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology is an asset.
