Job Summary:

Schlegel Villages is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Team Member to join our team. As a key member of our Village, you will play a vital role in delivering holistic services to our residents, fostering exemplary relationships with residents, their families, and the Village team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional care and support to residents with geriatric needs, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to understand residents' individual needs and develop personalized care plans.
  • Deliver recreational programs and activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents.
  • Support and promote a resident-centered social culture, encouraging socialization, engagement, and community building.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents, their families, and the Village team, ensuring open communication and a high level of customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with the geriatric population, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and staff.
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual's health and well-being.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and service.
  • Enrolled in or completed a diploma or degree in Recreation/Leisure Studies and/or Gerontology is an asset.
