Position Overview
We are in search of a qualified individual with a Master's degree in Nursing who possesses a deep understanding of rehabilitation, geriatrics, and orthopedics. The Senior Nursing Practice Lead for Subacute Care will champion nursing excellence through advanced clinical knowledge, leadership in healthcare systems, and the promotion of nursing practice, evaluation, and research. This role involves supporting complex client cases, leading the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to drive system improvements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical consultation and support for complex patient situations.
  • Lead the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical guidelines.
  • Engage with healthcare teams to enhance nursing practices and patient outcomes.
  • Conduct evaluations and research to inform best practices in nursing.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with staff, patients, families, and external partners.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse education program.
  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience in acute care, with a focus on geriatrics, orthopedics, or rehabilitation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to identify complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience in teaching and facilitating group learning sessions.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in project management and change management.
  • Knowledge of program evaluation methodologies.
  • Certifications in specialized nursing areas such as Gerontological Nursing or Medical-Surgical Nursing.
