Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner is a key member of the Alberta Health Services team, providing comprehensive patient care to outpatients in the Alberta Thoracic Oncology Program at the Foothills Medical Centre. As a self-directed advanced practice nurse, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care to outpatients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of client care.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Participate in program development and evaluation, research, and clinical teaching activities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to other healthcare professionals as needed.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree.
- Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Pulmonary nursing, acute care, and/or Outpatient settings.
- Additional training in ECG interpretation, Lab and DI investigations.
