About the Role

Fritz-Alder Precast is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines.
  2. Participate in the preliminary design process to confirm project estimates, production capacity, and common construction practices.
  3. Maintain project design schedules and requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  4. Prioritize and manage several tasks, working independently or as part of a team as required.
  5. Take initiative, demonstrating a flexible attitude and ability to adapt to changing project phases.
  6. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including engineering drawings, SIs, RFIs, and site and safety reports.
  7. Assist in creating and maintaining schedules, providing updates as necessary.
  8. Coordinate design conflicts, site issues, and discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution.
  9. Review and coordinate project changes with stakeholders, assessing schedule and cost impacts.
  10. Prepare Schedule of Values (SOV) for invoicing purposes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  11. Review shop drawings before submission to clients, ensuring quality and compliance.
  12. Set up and maintain project files, ensuring organization and accessibility.
  13. Manage and expedite site drawings, ensuring the site and sub-trades have the most current information.
  14. Co-Chair project start-up and coordination design meetings as required.
  15. Attend project meetings as requested, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  16. Plan and execute corrective actions, working with the CM to resolve challenges.
  17. Oversee and control shop drawing submittal/approval process, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  18. Identify work outside of scope, tracking work orders diligently.
  19. Assist the PM in obtaining Change Order pricing from subcontractors/suppliers.
  20. Ensure deficiencies are corrected, and floor sign-off sheets are completed promptly.
  21. Assist the PM in handling project closeout, obtaining final building sign-offs, and submitting final project documentation.

Qualifications & Education Requirements
  1. Degree/Diploma in Construction Engineering (CET diploma) or Civil/Structural Engineering would be an asset.
  2. Previous experience with precast structures is an asset.
  3. Minimum 3-5 years in project coordination experience.
  4. Proven experience handling the coordination of multiple projects.
  5. Proficient in various Microsoft computer applications, MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  6. Willingness to travel within Southern Ontario if required, with a current, valid driver's license.
  7. Ability to read Architectural, Structural, and Shop Fabrication drawings.
  8. Ability to coordinate drawings, identifying errors, omissions, and discrepancies.
  9. Solid understanding of general construction methods and materials, specifically structural elements.
  10. Strong understanding of inspection and testing practices for soils, rebar, and concrete.
  11. Strong understanding of construction management documentation, including RFI's and SI's.
  12. Knowledge of Procore Construction Management Software would be an asset.
