Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team in a clinical nutrition role. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to patients, assessing their nutritional needs, and developing personalized care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and screenings to identify patients' nutritional needs and develop effective care plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless delivery of nutrition care and services.
  • Develop and implement nutrition education programs for patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in clinical nutrition, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care that addresses their physical, emotional, and nutritional needs.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition or a related field, with completion of an accredited dietetic internship program.
  • Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and membership with Dietitians of Canada (an asset).
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital setting, with a strong understanding of clinical nutrition needs across diverse patient populations.
  • Experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition support, as well as excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in using information technology to enhance and support clinical practices, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Meditech Expanse.
