Job Summary

Coast Mental Health is seeking a skilled Community Mental Health Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Culinary Program, you will provide essential support and advocacy services to individuals with mental health, physical health, substance use, and homelessness needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and facilitate PSR-based programs for groups of individuals with diverse needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to help participants achieve their employment goals.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of participants through the application of psychosocial rehabilitation practices.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Program Manager to achieve program objectives.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Community Social Service or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality and culinary industry.
  • Experience developing and facilitating PSR-based programs.
  • Recent, related experience of two years.
  • Ability to provide or obtain necessary certifications and clearances.
Knowledge and Abilities
  • Knowledge of mental health, health, employment, and housing issues.
  • Demonstrated ability in crisis de-escalation skills.
  • Ability to work with marginalized, underserved, and at-risk individuals.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and psychosocial rehabilitation practices.
