Coast Mental Health is seeking a skilled Community Mental Health Worker to join our team. As a key member of our community-based rehabilitation services, you will play a vital role in enabling clients to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized life skills programs with clients, incorporating their interests and needs.
- Provide community-based psycho-social rehabilitation services, including crisis de-escalation and support.
- Teach and model life skills and strategies necessary for self-care, independent living, and interaction with outside social agencies.
- Collaborate with clients, peers, supervisors, and other agencies to ensure comprehensive support and care.
- Ensure all requirements of the QWIK process and administrative tasks are completed within allocated timeframes.
- Monitor and report health and safety issues, and address concerns as they arise.
- Diploma in Community Social Service or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Recent, related experience of two years.
- Ability to provide/obtain required certifications, including First Aid + CPR, WHMIS, and FoodSafe.
- Knowledge of housing issues, local and community resources, and psychosocial rehabilitation practices.
- Ability to work effectively independently and in cooperation with others.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
