Position Overview

The Wellness Program Supervisor is responsible for delivering high-quality health and wellness initiatives that align with the needs of YWCA Hamilton members, participants, and the broader community, in accordance with our mission, vision, and values while adhering to established policies and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse range of group fitness classes.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with YWCA Hamilton's policies and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with members and clients, taking appropriate measures to mitigate them.
  • Work schedule may include days, early mornings, and afternoons.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma and must be at least 18 years old.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a group fitness leader, with the ability to instruct various classes tailored for the 55+ community (e.g., Aqua Fitness, Strength Training, Interval).
  • Must possess Ontario Fitness Council (OFC) Group Fitness Leadership Certification or an equivalent qualification.
  • Specialized Group Fitness Certifications (e.g., Pilates, Zumba, Yoga) are considered an asset.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, early mornings, or afternoons.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/French or other languages is an asset.
