Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Engineer

Position Overview:

The role involves a deep understanding of Electromagnetism principles, their applications, and practical testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize knowledge of Electromagnetism theory for various applications, simulations, and testing procedures.
  2. Apply expertise in Radio Frequency (RF) theory, signal analysis, and conduct antenna co-site assessments.
  3. Develop and implement Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) requirements.
  4. Employ risk mitigation strategies for Electromagnetic (EM) challenges, including grounding, bonding, shielding, and harness separation techniques.
  5. Create comprehensive test plans for components, subsystems, and complete systems, ensuring thorough execution and detailed reporting.
  6. Conduct laboratory measurements utilizing advanced equipment such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, and antenna testbeds.
  7. Organize and maintain project records to guarantee timely and budget-conscious project completion.
  8. Formulate plans and estimates for ongoing and upcoming projects.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  2. 3-5 years of applicable experience in the industry.
  3. Strong communication, organizational, and prioritization capabilities.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office and other engineering software tools.
  5. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  6. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with the ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
  7. Must meet anthropometrical size restrictions for confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Familiarity with military standards such as MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461/464, and their commercial counterparts.
  2. Experience with electrical and electronic systems in military vehicles, off-road vehicles, or standard automotive platforms.
  3. Proficiency in simulation applications like FEKO or similar tools.
  4. Certification as a TEMPEST Professional (CTP) or in training for CTP.
  5. Military background related to the technologies mentioned.
