Role Overview: As an Indirect Procurement Lead for the Amazon Fulfillment Center team, you will be responsible for overseeing the site's indirect procurement operations. This includes managing forecasting, inventory oversight, purchase order processing, and vendor relations with third-party service providers. You will spearhead supplier management metrics and collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for enhancement and improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with the Procurement Operations Manager to deliver procurement operations support for the fulfillment center, focusing on:
· Forecasting non-inventory products
· Inventory oversight
· Non-inventory flow and space modeling
· Cycle counts and supplier management
· Procurement transactions and expediting support
· Lead a team of non-inventory receivers to ensure the facility is adequately resourced for success.
· Cultivate in-depth knowledge of non-inventory items and collaborate with similar facilities to implement best practices.
· Manage KPIs to evaluate, control, and benchmark procurement processes, including the creation of recurring metrics reports to drive operational improvements.
· Foster relationships across the building and network to ensure the sharing and implementation of best practices.
· Align with internal stakeholders, Finance, and Procurement Operations to comprehend budgetary objectives and develop methods for measuring savings and value metrics.
· Construct a category metrics model to monitor performance relative to the category strategy.
· Assess actual versus planned savings; when trends are identified, develop action plans to achieve goals and create solutions.
· Collaborate with both internal teams and suppliers to devise innovative solutions that support procurement operations.
· Establish and implement metrics to evaluate suppliers, driving continuous performance enhancement on behalf of Amazon.
· Oversee the demand identification, procurement, and inventory management of all non-merchandise items essential for building operations, including packing materials, labor, and janitorial services.
· Work with the Category team to manage and maintain supplier scorecards.
· Collaborate with Accounts Payable, suppliers, and various internal teams to ensure prompt resolution of vendor payment issues.
· Support procurement operations and category management teams.
· This role requires working in a warehouse environment, necessitating frequent movement throughout the facility. Candidates should be comfortable in environments with varying temperatures due to operational needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables)
- At least 1 year of experience in employee and performance management
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain
- At least 3 years of experience in supply chain operations
- Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of relevant Amazon experience
- Experience in supplier or vendor relationship management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in procurement
- Familiarity with Coupa or other financial management/procurement software.
