Job Title: Indirect Tax Planning Leader

Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC is seeking a highly skilled Indirect Tax Planning Leader to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our Indirect Tax team, you will be responsible for leading our Indirect Tax Planning activities, ensuring compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations, and providing strategic guidance to our business partners.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Canadian indirect tax laws and regulations, including GST/HST, QST, BC PST, SK PST, and MB RST. You will be responsible for analyzing complex tax issues, providing technical guidance, and developing strategies to minimize tax risk and exposure. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our business operations are compliant with Canadian tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of Indirect Tax Planning strategies and initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance on Canadian indirect tax laws and regulations
  • Analyze complex tax issues and develop strategies to minimize tax risk and exposure
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with tax authorities and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field
  • Significant experience in Canadian indirect taxes (GST/HST; QST; BC PST; SK PST; MB RST)
  • Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) or degree in law, taxation, or accountancy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
