Key Responsibilities

As a Legal Assistant Specialist, your primary duties will include:

  • Providing guidance to clients on intellectual property issues and representing them before the Trade-Marks Registrar.
  • Offering legal advice and support throughout various proceedings.
  • Compiling documentary evidence to prepare for trials.
  • Managing estate administration and asset distribution.
  • Coordinating administrative functions efficiently.
  • Drafting legal documents such as contracts, promissory notes, wills, and mortgages.
  • Handling probate processes to validate wills.
  • Assisting in the preparation of applications for uncontested divorces and name changes.
  • Conducting interviews with clients, witnesses, and relevant parties.
  • Issuing legal documents including subpoenas and summonses.
  • Performing clerical tasks, including maintaining organized filing systems.
  • Representing clients in administrative hearings regarding driving offences.
  • Taking legal action in landlord-tenant disputes.
  • Preparing trial briefs and establishing priorities for court staff.
  • Drafting and preparing various legal documents, including wills and affidavits.
  • Researching legal records and documents.
  • Scheduling court trials and arranging pre-trial conferences.
  • Assisting attorneys in mediation and dispute resolution preparations.
  • Representing clients in international consultations with foreign legal professionals.
  • Certifying signatures on legal documents.
  • Documenting court proceedings and judgments.
  • Collecting administrative fees and maintaining judicial records.
  • Explaining legal rights and obligations to clients.
  • Assisting in budget preparation and management.
  • Presiding over summary conviction trials and related legal matters.
  • Acting as executor or guardian in estate-related issues.
