Position Overview
We are currently seeking a 2-Year Temporary Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to join our Facilities Department. This role is crucial in ensuring the effective management of the District's building assets.

In this position, you will collaborate with contractors and internal personnel to execute diverse maintenance programs, which encompass heating, air conditioning, janitorial services, plumbing, electrical systems, access control, fire safety, and other equipment for District-owned facilities. Your responsibilities will include conducting technical inspections of buildings and sites, responding to service requests and after-hours emergencies, addressing occupant concerns, and performing necessary repairs and maintenance tasks.

Specific duties may involve:
  • Regularly coordinating with external contractors and internal teams to establish and uphold a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Facilitating planned modifications and minor renovations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and managing expenditures related to building maintenance and repairs.
This role requires a significant degree of independent judgment in daily operations and the coordination of property maintenance activities.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Extensive knowledge of the tools, materials, and methods utilized in building maintenance and repair.
  • Familiarity with the operations of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • The ability to identify potential issues and perform minor repairs on various building systems.
  • Solid understanding of building security, access control, video monitoring, and automation systems.
  • Experience with HVAC Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Proficiency in preparing specifications for maintenance work.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and maintain accurate reports and records.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to foster collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Education
Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by technical training in building technology, along with relevant experience in the construction or maintenance sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Class 5 Driver's License is also required.

Work Schedule
This position entails a 35-hour work week, with a compressed work schedule option available.
