Hourly Wage: $30.00-$33.00 CAD

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate machinery and robotic systems to prepare for daily production, ensuring the setup and operation of moulding equipment to produce plastic components as per specifications.
  • Modify moulds and adjust machinery for production line transitions, providing backup for mould changers during absences.
  • Diagnose and perform minor repairs on equipment using hand and pneumatic tools, assisting with basic maintenance tasks as trained.
  • Install and configure moulds according to company work instructions, monitoring the quality of produced materials and adjusting machine settings as necessary.
  • Follow formulation guidelines to mix ingredient batches for the injection moulding process, managing material changes and ensuring efficient use of regrind materials.
  • Report production or equipment issues to the supervisor, maintain material inventory, and uphold a clean working environment while promptly addressing potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to analyze and resolve production and quality challenges.
  • Provide supervisory support during breaks, lunches, and absences.
  • Ensure effective training and onboarding of new employees, striving to meet or exceed targets for scrap reduction, labor efficiency, and machine uptime.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe workplace through the enforcement of company health and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in injection moulding or a comparable manufacturing setting, such as extrusion or die casting, in roles such as Process, Setup, Mould, or Maintenance Technician.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with machinery and process troubleshooting.
  • Possession of a forklift license and crane training.
  • Willingness to learn through hands-on training.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Availability for primary shift coverage and flexibility for alternate shifts.
