About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mould Maintenance Technician to join our team at IPEX, a leading manufacturer of rubber gaskets and related products. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our injection and compression moulds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on injection and compression moulds to ensure optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with moulds and machinery, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Operate mobile material handling equipment to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair.
  • Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair all injection and compression moulds, ensuring they meet the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Competently and safely use all tools and assemble and disassemble moulds and operate all machine tools in a safe manner.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all compression and injection moulds, including stripping down, cleaning, replacing date plugs, and storing all injection/compression moulds and cold runners.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve common goals, such as during plant shutdown periods or when machinery is not operating.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and maintain a safe and orderly work environment, adhering to company policies and safe work practices.
  • Support and follow the 5S program to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Dispose of chemicals in accordance with label instructions.
  • Catalog and inventory all parts and tooling related to mould service.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Strong mechanical abilities and aptitude.
  • Troubleshooting skills on moulding machines.
  • Knowledge of injection moulding machines.
  • Rubber/plastics manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
