**Manufacturing Leadership Role**

We are seeking a seasoned Production Operations Manager to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods Inc. This is a critical leadership role that requires a strong background in manufacturing operations, with a focus on delivering high-quality products while ensuring efficient and effective production processes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of production staff, including direct supervision of senior supervisors and production supervisors. They will foster a positive labor relations environment, ensuring that all employees are treated with respect and grievances are addressed in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of managing production costs, labor utilization, yields, and results of operations. They will be accountable for monitoring production inputs and outputs to minimize product loss and work towards achieving an accident-free facility.
The Production Operations Manager will also be responsible for communicating the implementation of new or changes to Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP to ensure consistent product quality and progressive food safety programs.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading a team of production staff to achieve production goals and objectives
- Fostering a positive labor relations environment
- Managing production costs, labor utilization, yields, and results of operations
- Monitoring production inputs and outputs to minimize product loss
- Communicating the implementation of new or changes to Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP
- Championing continuous improvement for manufacturing processes
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in manufacturing operations, with a focus on delivering high-quality products while ensuring efficient and effective production processes.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant post-secondary education (preferably a University degree in Engineering, Food Science, or Business)
- 7+ years of management experience in a unionized, manufacturing environment
- Strong financial analytical skills and computer literacy, including Microsoft Office software
- Results-oriented with the ability to multi-task in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
- Well-developed written and communication skills, with the ability to exercise timely and good judgment in day-to-day business decisions
