Position Overview
The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is accountable for overseeing all facets of the production workflow. This role involves providing leadership in logistics, materials management, planning, and manufacturing operations while directly managing these responsibilities. The primary challenge for the supervisor is to ensure production adheres to established guidelines for efficiency, labor costs, product rework, waste management, and control of on-hold inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure resource allocation meets production demands across all operational stations.
- Facilitate training for new operators on relevant equipment.
- Collaborate with HR to recruit local talent for production roles.
- Develop production schedules based on order requirements.
- Report on production metrics and participate in operational meetings.
- Monitor and manage production scrap rates.
- Create maintenance schedules for all production machinery.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts for production equipment.
- Promote and uphold health and safety standards on the production floor.
- Sustain existing production processes, policies, and quality standards.
- Design and coordinate production equipment for operational efficiency.
- Develop specialized equipment for prototype projects.
- Create and draft custom engineering solutions for production and R&D equipment.
- Assess adhesives and laser technologies for production and development applications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or a bachelor's degree.
- Experience in a production environment relevant to the industry.
- Proven track record of enhancing organizational effectiveness and operational management.
- Knowledge of business management, human resources, and project management principles.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive approach to quality and ownership of logistics initiatives.
