Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for operating metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Metal Cleaning Equipment: Safely operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess materials from metal products, ensuring high-quality finishes and meeting production standards.
  • Transport Raw Materials and Finished Products: Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant manually, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Assist Metal Workers: Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers in their tasks, providing support and ensuring efficient production.
  • Sort and Organize Materials: Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Grind and Chip Excess Metal: Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools, ensuring precise and accurate results.
  • Clean Machines and Work Areas: Clean machines and immediate work areas, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Read and Interpret Work Orders: Read and interpret work orders, understanding production requirements and meeting deadlines.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced production environment, collaborating with team members to achieve production goals and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Language: English language proficiency required.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
