Job Summary:

The Executive Vice President of Technology provides strategic technology leadership to the Ottawa Senators Sports and Entertainment group, overseeing the planning, design, installation, integration, and sustainment of arena and business technology infrastructure and solutions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of IT systems, software applications, communications infrastructure, and technology projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Direct and manage IT plans, schedules, policies, and programs for the organization's data processing, network communications, business operations, disaster recovery planning, computer services, and management information systems according to established goals and objectives.
  • Identify and analyze relevant emerging information technologies and oversee implementation via iterative innovation programs.
  • Ensure that mission-critical applications and technology are available and able to support the company's long-term goals and operational objectives.
  • Liaise with and manage external Technology partners & suppliers.
  • Serve as a committed and responsible member of the Executive Team, contributing to the strategic planning process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology or business-related discipline, and minimum 10 years of progressive technology leadership roles.
  • Experience creating and executing a strategic technology vision for businesses, including the development and oversight of tactical details while maintaining a clear view of the big picture.
  • In-depth understanding of all aspects of corporate technology, data networking, telephony, and information security.
  • Disciplined yet flexible, with a high degree of personal integrity, consistently putting the interests of the organization ahead of personal interests.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively translate complex technology concepts into accessible business terms.
  • Aptitude for independent decision-making, creative thinking, and innovation with technology.
  • Applicable professional certifications would be an asset (PMI, ITIL/AXELOS, ISACA, ISC2).
  • Experience with broadcast technologies (e.g., broadcast media, scoring and video boards, press/media distribution, in-house television systems, broadcast & audio cabling systems) would be an asset.
