About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced External Relations Officer to join our team at the University of Toronto Scarborough. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing and maintaining strong relationships with co-op employers, identifying new business opportunities, and driving the growth of our co-op programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with co-op employers to identify new business opportunities and drive the growth of our co-op programs.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends and identify target markets for co-op job development.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to attract new co-op employers and retain existing ones.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and support services to ensure that co-op students have access to high-quality co-op work term opportunities.
  • Track and analyze data to determine trends and recommend target markets for co-op job development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years' experience in a Business to Business (B2B) sales environment in any industry.
  • Track record of success in a target-driven environment generating new business and building client relationships in existing and new market sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of implementing business development and sales funnel approaches and tracking activities to desired outcomes.
  • Proven experience in strategic account management, including developing and maintaining long-term relationships with key clients, identifying growth opportunities, and driving business outcomes.
  • Motivated through individual planning and target achievement, while thriving in a collaborative team-based environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to effectively balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to speak to and lead targeted group presentations.
  • Good judgment, tact, and discretion, and able to resolve issues, problems, and competing goals.
  • Strong ability to input, interpret, and analyze data with moderate to proficient expertise in Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with strong influencing and consensus-building skills.
