Position Overview

The role of a Plastics Machine Operator at EPL Plastics involves operating and maintaining various machinery used in the production of plastic products. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is mandatory.
Work Environment

The working conditions can be noisy, requiring the ability to focus amidst sound.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor adjustments on equipment.
  • Accurately weigh resins, colorants, and other chemicals as per specified formulas.
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of materials produced.
  • Load weighed materials into mixing machines.
  • Operate mixing machines to blend plastics and chemicals to achieve desired consistency and viscosity.
  • Unload mixtures into containers or conveyors for subsequent processing.
  • Set up and operate calender machines to convert plastic bales or slabs into continuous sheets or films of specified thickness.
  • Adjust calender rollers to accommodate production line changes.
  • Set up and operate extruding machines to process plastic compounds through nozzles or dies.
  • Change dies on extruding machines as required by production line modifications.
  • Set up and operate various moulding machines to create plastic products.
  • Prepare and modify moulds and adjust equipment for production line changes.
  • Follow formulation cards to mix resin batches for the injection moulding process.
  • Organize and maintain inventory effectively.
  • Trim and sand plastic or fiberglass components as necessary.
