Workshop Technician

First Military Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our team. As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for performing servicing, fault diagnostic, and rectification tasks on suction excavators.
Key Responsibilities:- Planned maintenance and fault diagnostics via remote monitoring and liaison with operators
- Strong electrical diagnostic skills and ability to work on own initiative
- Fault rectification and record keeping, as well as remedial works and service and repair of remote-control systems
- Research and development tasks, and assisting work on a customer's site on an occasional basis
- Maintaining tools and equipment in a safe, clean, and functional condition, and ensuring all areas of work are maintained in a safe and tidy condition
- Completing written and computer-based reports, and complying with all aspects of the company policies and published procedures
- At least 3 years' demonstrable experience working within the service industry in mechanical and electrical disciplines, ideally with hydraulic and pneumatic experience
- Strong electrical diagnostic skills and experience working on PLC controlled systems
- Ability to work on own initiative and experience in fault-finding and repair of electrical control circuits/PLCs
- A recognised formal apprenticeship in addition to City and Guilds or similar qualification
- To always work safely and in accordance with the company's health and safety procedures
