Overview:

Toromont Cat Power is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee the management of our extensive rental fleet. This role is crucial for ensuring the availability and operational efficiency of over 500 Power Systems rental assets. The Fleet Manager will be tasked with the comprehensive management of maintenance and repair activities through our Regional Service Centers.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with service supervisors, advisors, and coordinators at all Regional Service Centers to effectively schedule and monitor repair progress, ensuring timely readiness of equipment. Make informed repair prioritization decisions based on input from the sales team and equipment requirements. Provide guidance on fleet replacement versus refurbishment based on equipment age, usage, and the availability of new units. Coordinate with Regional Service Center contacts to schedule technicians, create detailed work orders, and manage parts orders. Maintain accurate tracking of fleet availability and status across Eastern Canada using CatScan receivers and shippers, along with the Rental Dashboard. Regularly communicate fleet status to Sales and Operations teams. Address technical inquiries related to specific repairs, required parts, and equipment capabilities. Assist in processing orders and invoicing for external suppliers, including freight, contractors, and equipment.

Qualifications:

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience in the Caterpillar and/or Power Systems industry. Proficient analytical skills with a solid understanding of business operations. A collaborative mindset with a focus on relationship building and customer service. Effective negotiation skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Excellent organizational and planning abilities, with a strong sense of urgency. Self-driven and results-oriented, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications; quick to learn new technologies. A degree in Business Administration or Commerce, or relevant technical experience.
