Toromont Cat Power Systems is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Operations Manager to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and availability of the rental fleet.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with service supervisors, advisors, and coordinators to schedule and track repair progress, ensuring prompt return to service.
- Work closely with the EMS department to monitor maintenance event progress.
- Prioritize repair decisions based on feedback from the sales team and equipment needs.
- Advise on fleet replacement versus rebuild decisions based on equipment age, hours, and availability of new units for fleet upload.
- Manage fleet availability and status tracking across Eastern Canada using CatScan receivers and shippers, and through the Rental Dashboard.
- Share fleet availability with Sales and Operations teams on a daily basis.
- Identify and schedule appropriate service letters, trailer safety inspections, and stay current with CSA/TSSA/Canada Transport regulations and upfits.
- Answer technical questions pertaining to specific repairs, required parts, and equipment capabilities.
- Assist with processing outside supplier orders and invoicing, including freight, contractors, and equipment orders.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Caterpillar and/or Power Systems industry experience.
- Strong analytical and data analysis abilities, with business acumen.
- A collaborative team player with strong relationship building and customer service focus.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with a sense of urgency.
- Self-motivated, with strong initiative and results-driven approach.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications, with a willingness to learn new technology.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Commerce, or relevant technical experience.
