Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to specified templates
  • Operate metalworking machinery for cutting, punching, drilling, shaping, or straightening sheet metal
  • Conduct inspections to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications
  • Develop computerized patterns and layouts
  • Oversee and guide other workers
  • Utilize power tools or manual methods to cut materials
  • Employ CADD and other software systems effectively
  • Fit and join various sheet metal components
  • Install sheet metal products in accordance with specifications and building codes
  • Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications accurately
Certifications and Training
  • Aerial lift and aerial work platform certification
  • WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification
  • Fall arrest protection training course
Specialized Skills and Experience
  • Experience with copper or metal roofing
  • Ability to create custom sheet metal items
  • Knowledge of eavestroughing and flashing
  • Experience in sheeting and cladding
Transportation Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Access to personal transportation
