Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and mark sheet metal following templates
  • Operate machinery to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal
  • Inspect finished products for quality assurance
  • Create computerized patterns and layouts
  • Oversee the work of junior staff
  • Utilize power tools and manual methods for material cutting
  • Employ CADD and other software for design tasks
  • Assemble and join sheet metal components
  • Install metal roofing products in accordance with specifications and codes
  • Interpret blueprints, maps, and technical drawings
Required Certifications
  • Aerial lift and aerial work platform certification
  • WHMIS certification
  • Fall arrest protection training
Specialized Skills
  • Experience with copper or metal roofing
  • Ability to create custom sheet metal products
  • Knowledge of eavestroughing and flashing techniques
  • Expertise in sheeting and cladding
Transportation Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
