Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to enhance our Allied Health Services team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to residents, ensuring their well-being and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive assessments using both standardized and non-standardized evaluation tools to identify residents' occupational therapy needs.
- Creates tailored treatment plans based on thorough clinical evaluations and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
- Monitors and evaluates residents' progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary and maintaining accurate documentation of therapy outcomes.
- Participates actively in team meetings, providing insights on residents' progress and contributing to collaborative care strategies.
- Designs and fabricates adaptive devices and equipment to enhance residents' functional abilities, providing training on their use.
- Oversees the maintenance and management of therapeutic equipment, ensuring all tools are in optimal condition for resident use.
- Delivers training sessions for staff on best practices in ergonomics and therapeutic techniques.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy with current registration in the relevant professional body.
- In-depth knowledge of occupational therapy principles, anatomy, and the application of adaptive technologies.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in geriatric care, is preferred.
- A strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors through compassionate care.
