Position Overview

Reporting to the Superintendent - Site Services, the DPRT Operations Lead will play a crucial role in overseeing Dual Power Road Train (DPRT) operations and production support. This position involves ensuring safe and efficient ore transportation to the processing plant while managing departmental objectives and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Championing safety protocols and best practices across all mining activities at Ekati.

• Collaborating with Technical Services, Maintenance, and Surface Mining teams to execute the mining plan and maintenance schedule effectively.

• Providing mentorship and guidance to employees and trainees, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

• Understanding the critical importance of timely ore movement to the processing plant and prioritizing tasks accordingly.

• Preparing comprehensive daily shift reports for the Superintendent, providing clear updates on operational progress.

• Contributing to the development of the mining plan through effective communication, team direction, and prioritization of responsibilities, ensuring alignment with budgeted targets.

• Monitoring all tracking systems to ensure equipment is operated safely, responsibly, and productively.

• Directing a team of DPRT operators to transport ore to the processing plant, meeting production targets and objectives.

• Overseeing a team of production support operators responsible for maintaining ore pads, sorting, loading DPRTs, loading ore into the plant, and managing end-use products.

• Embracing a flexible team environment to achieve best-in-class efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

• Possess or be eligible to obtain a Level 1 Supervisor ticket.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the mining industry, including significant supervisory experience.

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a mining or industrial setting.

• Comprehensive knowledge of mass material movement, road train operations, and related processes.

• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
