Position Overview
As a vital member of the DPRT Production team, Support Operators will report directly to the DPRT Production Team Leader, working on a rotation of two weeks on and two weeks off at the Ekati mine site. The Equipment Operator - Support is tasked with the safe, efficient, and productive operation of support machinery within a complex site services framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate dozers, graders, excavators, loaders, and other assigned equipment to meet daily operational plans and support objectives;
- Communicate effectively using a two-way radio system;
- Utilize an electronic production data collection system (WENCO) proficiently;
- Ensure equipment integrity by completing job hazard analysis reports and maintaining equipment log books;
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of yourself and your colleagues by adhering to all company-specific safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent;
- A minimum of 5 years' experience operating various heavy machinery, particularly D10 Dozer, 16G/M Grader, CAT 375 Excavator, and 992 Loader in the mining sector or a similar environment;
- Experience in the mining industry, particularly in northern Canada, along with an understanding of the northern regulatory landscape is preferred.
