Position Overview
As part of the DPRT Production team, Support Operators will report directly to the DPRT Production Team Leader and work on a two (2) weeks on, two (2) weeks off rotation at the Ekati mine site. The Equipment Operator - Support is tasked with the safe, efficient, and productive operation of support machinery within a complex site services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate various heavy machinery including dozers, graders, excavators, loaders, and other equipment as assigned to achieve daily operational goals;
- Communicate effectively using a two-way radio system;
- Utilize an electronic production data collection system (WENCO) proficiently;
- Ensure equipment integrity and complete job hazard analysis reports along with maintaining equipment log books;
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of yourself and colleagues by adhering to all company-specific safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent;
- A minimum of 5 years' experience operating a range of heavy equipment, particularly D10 Dozer, 16G/M Grader, CAT 375 Excavator, and 992 Loader in the mining sector or a similar environment;
- Experience in the mining industry, particularly in Northern Canada, and familiarity with the northern regulatory landscape is preferred.
