Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Planner to join our team at BMO. As a Financial Planner, you will be responsible for providing financial and investment planning and advice to our customers, delivering solutions that meet their needs and goals.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Engagement: Proactively engage with new and existing customers to understand their financial needs and provide tailored solutions.
  2. Business Development: Implement business development strategies to acquire new business, including outbound calling campaigns and cultivating branch referrals.
  3. Relationship Management: Develop and implement a relationship management plan to meet the needs of clients, providing ongoing support and guidance.
  4. Investment Solutions: Respond to customer investment requests, providing solutions and recommendations aligned with their goals and risk tolerance.
  5. Analysis and Problem-Solving: Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations, breaking down complex problems and identifying opportunities for growth.
  6. Communication and Collaboration: Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communicating complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  7. Compliance and Risk Management: Protect the Bank's assets and comply with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements, exercising judgment to identify and mitigate risks.

Qualifications

Typically between 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • CFP designation preferred or working towards one of the following:
    • Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation
    • Wealth Management Essentials (WME) + Financial Planning Supplement
    • Professional Financial Planning Course (PFPC)
    • Financial Planning I & II (FP I & II)
  • Canadian Securities Course - Licensed to sell mutual funds excluding QC or IQPF in Quebec.
  • Advanced working knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills - In-depth.
  • Collaboration and team skills - In-depth.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth.
  • Influence skills - In-depth.

Compensation

$44, $82,500.00

Pay Type: Salaried & Commission

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards. BMO also offers health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
