Position Overview: Reporting to the Project Manager for Process Optimization & Analytics, this role is essential in executing on-site assessments and providing strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing both advanced and traditional water or wastewater treatment methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough on-site investigations and diagnostic analyses, including bench scale, pilot, and full-scale evaluations.
  • Engage in collaborative research focused on innovative water and wastewater treatment techniques.
  • Offer expert recommendations for the planning, design, and commissioning of water systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ISO guidelines.
  • Facilitate both on-site and classroom training sessions regarding new advanced treatment technologies.
  • Review benchmarking data and monitor operational parameters to troubleshoot and enhance treatment system performance.
  • Execute bench scale, pilot scale, and full-scale testing of various optimization strategies.
  • Ensure quality assurance measures are in place to evaluate program effectiveness and support ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the formulation and management of standard operating procedures and policies related to quality management systems.
  • Oversee the appropriate application of asset management standards for infrastructure.
  • Foster and support research partnerships with academic institutions and research organizations.
  • Manage engineering and asset management consultants, overseeing feasibility studies and projects related to water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Lead project teams, providing guidance and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate trials of new technologies for application in water and wastewater facilities.
  • Participate in external technical committees and professional organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a University Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Knowledge of municipal water and wastewater treatment processes, including collection and distribution system management.
  • Familiarity with complex hydraulic systems, including pumping, piping, and valving.
  • Comprehension of budgeting processes, strategic planning, and program development techniques.
