Claims Manager

Cowan Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled Claims Manager to lead our claims team and drive excellence in client service. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of Personal and Commercial claims, mentoring team members, and collaborating with leaders across the brokerage to ensure efficiencies and business objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team of Claims Representatives, providing day-to-day coaching and guidance on claims and ensuring client service levels are met.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance client experience and drive business growth.
- Keep executive management apprised of sensitive and complex claims, providing timely and accurate updates.
- Track and manage claims and potential claims against Cowan, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Advocate for clients with insurers, negotiating fair settlements and resolving disputes.
- Provide subject matter expertise to leaders across P&C regarding complex claims, including interpretation of contract and policy language.
- Manage budgets for the Claims team, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
- Create and enhance business processes, operations, and workflow within the claims team, driving efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends, changes, and updates, staying ahead of the curve in claims management.
- Provide monthly reporting related to strategic initiatives and KPIs, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Previous experience managing a claims team is an asset.
- RIBO License is required or ability to obtain.
- CAIB, CIP, or CRM designation (or working towards designation) would be an asset.
- Minimum 7 years technical insurance experience with P&C claims or Commercial area.
- Proven strong problem-solving abilities, with a client-focused approach and speed to resolution.
- Excellent organizational, negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced working environment with a demonstrated ability to multitask and adjust priorities regularly.
