We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering time-limited, evidence-based psycho-social assessments and treatments to adults with Tier-3 mental disorders and Substance Use Disorders.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline and current registration with a relevant provincial regulatory body. They will possess a minimum of two years' related experience, including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and discharge planning.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the principles of harm reduction, the dynamics of addiction, and evidence-based interventions for the treatment of addiction. They will also have demonstrated knowledge and skills in individual/group cognitive behavioral therapy, psycho-educational groups, crisis intervention, suicide, and violence risk assessment/intervention.
We are looking for a team player who can work independently with limited supervision and participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have basic competencies in relation to identifying and treating concurrent mental health and substance use disorders, as well as experience in interviewing, counseling, and teaching health concepts to individuals, families, and groups.
The Clinical Therapist will be responsible for collaborating with families in relation to sharing information and implementing family-sensitive services that involve families in the care and recovery of people living with mental illness and addiction. Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
About You- Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline (Masters in Social Work, Psychology, Masters in Counseling, Masters in Nursing, or Masters in Occupational Therapy)
- Current registration with relevant provincial regulatory body or eligible

Clinical Therapist
$49.05 hourly
