Overview

We are seeking an experienced principal structural engineer to contribute to our team's success. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architectural design and possess strong technical skills to support project development.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the creation of structural drawings and ensure compliance with relevant building codes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to acquire new projects and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop project concepts and solutions, leveraging expertise in structural design.
  • Support project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination, to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Prepare code and bylaw reviews in accordance with the Ontario Building Code and applicable municipal bylaws.
  • Conduct site visits to gather information for projects and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Assist in the coordination of construction documents for commercial construction projects.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in structural design (Steel, wood, and concrete) and ability to apply knowledge to real-world projects.
  • Strong communication skills in English; bilingual proficiency is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and ability to apply them to project delivery.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and ability to ensure compliance in project work.
  • Ability to present ideas effectively to team members and clients, and lead by example.
  • Proficient in Excel for data analysis and reporting, and ability to apply data-driven insights to project decision-making.
  • Leadership skills to coordinate tasks within a team environment and drive project success.
  • Experience in construction projects is desirable, but not required.
Work Environment

Full-time position with a competitive salary range of $150,000.00-$300,000.00 per year, plus commission pay. Benefits include casual dress, dental care, extended health care, flexible schedule, on-site parking, and paid time off. Work location is in person, Monday to Friday.
