Position Overview

Job Title: Senior Structural Project Engineer

Employment Type: Full Time (40 hours/week) / On-Site and Field Inspections

Job Responsibilities: This position demands a deep comprehension of structural engineering concepts, particularly in reinforced concrete design and repair techniques. Your project management skills, combined with technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail, will be crucial for the successful execution of building science and engineering restoration projects.

As a Senior Structural Project Engineer at SPG Engineering Group, you will work collaboratively with Clients, Project Managers, CAD Technicians, and Sub-consultants to:

  • Create structural drawings utilizing AutoCAD for Building and Garage Restoration Projects.
  • Develop design documentation and specifications under the supervision of the Project Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of architectural and structural drawings for tender submissions and building permit requests.
  • Conduct field inspections during construction phases and support contract management for architectural and engineering restoration projects.
  • Contribute to Restoration Projects for Residential Condominiums, including both townhouse and high-rise structures.
  • Undertake Project Management responsibilities during construction and restoration activities, including construction oversight and contract administration.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Structural Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized Canadian University.
  • Expertise in concrete structure design and analysis, along with proficiency in structural engineering software.
  • Strong command of AutoCAD; familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe applications is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Preferred: Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a vehicle.

Desired Educational Background

  • Degree in Structural Engineering (Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Engineering)
  • Building Science Education
  • CAD Drafting and Microsoft Software Proficiency

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, and technical skills.
