About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rental Operations Manager to join our team at Oaken Equipment. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall supervision of our Rental Operations throughout multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fleet Management: Develop and implement strategies to optimize our rental fleet, including fleet planning, balancing adds, disposals, and forecasting.
  • Operations Oversight: Provide direct supervision of daily Rental Operations, including coaching and mentoring Rental Equipment Specialists in multiple locations.
  • Business Development: Manage the growth of our rental operations, including setting branch rental targets and driving continuous focus and awareness of rental results.
  • Financial Management: Review, monitor, and act on financial reporting information and other business metrics to steer the team to measured success.
  • Staff Management: Manage staff training and development, including providing feedback and input into future opportunities and competitive pressures.
  • Health and Safety: Manage health and safety and risk management as per company standards.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership position, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Sound knowledge of the heavy equipment or related industries and a proven track record.
  • Business Acumen: Solid business acumen with the ability to oversee the financial operations of the rental division.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across divisions to ensure strategic perspective and a mutual team focus.
  • Education: A post-secondary degree/diploma in Commerce, Business Management, or equivalent.
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily performed at the branch locations with a home office at Oaken's HQ in Brampton.
  • Occasionally meet with customers at their business locations, including job sites.
