The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Leader of Asset Management & Reliability, the Asset Reliability Specialist plays a crucial role within the Asset Reliability Group (ARG) at Maple Leaf Foods. This group is dedicated to enhancing manufacturing reliability and operational maturity across our facilities. The specialist will engage with multiple sites and assist in the development and execution of Asset Management & Reliability initiatives aimed at achieving top-tier standards. This position necessitates close collaboration with the ARG, plant maintenance teams, and various corporate departments, including Information Solutions, Food Safety, Finance, Engineering, Sustainability, and Operations Excellence.

A Snapshot of Your Daily Responsibilities: Support the implementation and maintenance of corporate asset management and reliability initiatives across the network. Monitor strategic asset reliability projects, offering insights and updates to key stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate and enhance asset management strategies for both critical and non-critical assets. Analyze asset performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for enhancement. Participate in initiatives designed to improve asset reliability and minimize mechanical/electrical downtime. Contribute to the development of training materials and documentation for maintenance onboarding programs. Assist in applying best practices for asset management and reliability engineering. Support the delivery of the ARG annual plan, long-term strategic roadmap, targets, and priorities. Prepare detailed reports and presentations on asset performance, reliability metrics, and project progress for management review. Engage in benchmarking activities to compare asset performance against industry standards and best practices, identifying areas for improvement. Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in reliability engineering and asset management. Perform other related maintenance and reliability tasks as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

A degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM field is required. 3-5 years of experience in asset reliability, maintenance, or operational excellence within fast-paced manufacturing or industrial settings is preferred. Familiarity with maintenance and reliability concepts and techniques. Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance best practices. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably SAP. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to evaluate asset reliability and performance, and to effectively diagnose and resolve issues. A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to develop asset management strategies. Proficiency in preparing and presenting detailed reports on asset performance and project progress to management and stakeholders. A service-oriented mindset with a focus on building positive relationships. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio. Membership in a Professional Engineering Association (P.Eng.); Six Sigma training and/or an MBA or equivalent qualifications are advantageous. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and health & safety requirements is beneficial. Familiarity with reporting and analytical platforms such as Power BI would be considered an asset.
