As a pivotal member of the Asset Reliability Group (ARG) at Maple Leaf Foods, the Asset Reliability Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing reliability and operational maturity across our facilities. Reporting to the Asset Management & Reliability Leader, this position involves collaboration with various teams to develop and execute Asset Management & Reliability initiatives aimed at achieving exceptional industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of corporate asset management and reliability initiatives across multiple sites.
- Monitor and provide insights on strategic asset reliability projects, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to refine asset management strategies for both critical and non-critical assets.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Engage in projects designed to improve asset reliability and minimize mechanical and electrical downtime.
- Assist in creating training materials and documentation for maintenance onboarding processes.
- Apply best practices in asset management and reliability engineering.
- Contribute to the delivery of the ARG annual plan, including long-term strategic objectives and priorities.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on asset performance and reliability metrics for management review.
- Participate in benchmarking activities to evaluate asset performance against industry standards, identifying areas for improvement.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in reliability engineering and asset management.
- Perform additional maintenance and reliability tasks as assigned.
- A degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM discipline is required.
- 3-5 years of experience in asset reliability, maintenance, or operational excellence within fast-paced manufacturing or industrial settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of maintenance and reliability principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance best practices.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), particularly SAP.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to evaluate asset reliability and performance.
- A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in preparing and presenting detailed reports on asset performance and project updates.
- Service-oriented mindset with a focus on building positive relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
- Professional Engineering Association Membership (P.Eng.), Six Sigma training, or an MBA is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and health & safety regulations is beneficial.
- Familiarity with reporting and analytical tools such as Power BI is a plus.
