Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical records and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, reports, and requests for analyses.
  • Enter data into computer applications and print out documents for distribution to personnel and service users.
  • Deal with service users, book appointments, and receive and forward messages to personnel and service users.
  • Handle mail, write correspondence, and update filing of records.
  • Collaborate with partners, affiliated organizations, and other members of the organization handling medical information.
  • Digitize and classify user information.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, office software, and administrative regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and independently.
Language

Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.

Other

May be required to work occasional extra hours outside of regular shift for projects. May be required to travel occasionally within the territory and in our other points of service. Telework may be available.
