About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Addiction Counsellor to join our team at Alouette Addictions Services Society. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality counselling services to individuals struggling with addiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with healthcare professionals to evaluate treatment plans and develop effective strategies for patient care.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and patient outcomes, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal results.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients, preparing comprehensive case histories and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, working closely with clients to achieve their goals.
  • Provide education and support to clients on health promotion, injury prevention, and management.
  • Counsel individuals and groups to promote personal, social, and vocational development and adjustment.
  • Implement treatment plans, analyzing patient progress and making adjustments as needed.
  • Perform administrative tasks, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification
  • Mental health first aid Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word
  • Behaviour modification or behavioural therapy, Client-centered or humanistic/experiential therapy, Cognitive therapy, Crisis intervention counselling, Psychotherapy, Brief therapy
  • Criminal record check, Driver's validity licence check
  • Own vehicle, Valid driver's licence
  • Accurate, Client focus, Dependability, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Judgement, Values and ethics, Flexibility, Interpersonal awareness, Organized, Reliability, Team player
Working Conditions

This is a temporary position, working 22.5 to 37.5 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree and 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field.
