Mental Health Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Mental Health and Substance Use program, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based interventions to promote recovery and rehabilitation.
- Intake and Screening: Perform initial screenings of referrals, determine priority of care, and assess client eligibility for services.
- Case Management: Coordinate services with police, hospitals, crisis lines, and suicide prevention programs, and facilitate client utilization of community services and rehabilitative programs.
- Education and Support: Provide education to clients and families on mental health and substance use issues, the recovery process, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Advocacy and Coordination: Advocate for clients' rights and needs, and coordinate services with other healthcare professionals and community agencies.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, and prepare reports as required.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling).
- Experience working with individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Strong assessment and treatment planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of autonomy and independence.
