Senior Underwriting Specialist, Ocean Marine

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriting Specialist, Ocean Marine to join our team at AIG. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in helping us to deliver exceptional insurance solutions to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction to management, less senior specialists, producers, and claims adjusting colleagues.
- Account Management: Accept, decline or modify new and renewal submissions, identifying exposures and analyzing required to underwrite an account, as well as the coverage policies.
- Business Development: Establish new business production goals and submission flow relative to the book of business.
- Cross-Selling: Collaborate with Distribution, Territory Managers, and other line(s) of business underwriters to target desirable accounts and cross-selling opportunities from brokers.
- Pricing and Negotiation: Develop and implement pricing and negotiation strategy, terms & conditions, and deal structures with brokers and clients while maintaining the quality of the risk and underwriting strategy.
- Customer Service: Provide superior customer service to brokers and clients.
- Culture and Talent Development: Drive a culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, diversity and inclusion; attracting and developing talent.
- Broker Network: Maintain and develop a national broker network.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency or Brokerage experience.
- Knowledge: Advanced working knowledge of marine coverages but principally ocean cargo lines of business including product features, forms, regulatory environments and risks, etc.
- Skills: Detail-oriented, critical thinking skills, decision making based on level of authority, problem solving, competent using analytical tools and technology.
- Communication: Effective in dynamic environment, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, working at pace and prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Market Knowledge: Market knowledge of cargo insurance landscape, including brokers and insurers.
