Senior Underwriter, Commercial Marine Insurance Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Marine Underwriter to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for accepting, rejecting, endorsing, renewing or canceling policies in accordance with our underwriting guidelines and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and other stakeholders to drive business growth and profitability.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and provide expert advice on marine insurance policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure our underwriting practices remain best-in-class.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to brokers and policyholders.
- Participate in the development and implementation of underwriting policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the growth and success of our marine insurance business.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in marine insurance underwriting or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
- Strong knowledge of marine insurance products and underwriting practices.
- Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
