Job Title: Operating Room Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operating Room Assistant to join our team at Humber River Health. As an Operating Room Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our surgical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock and maintain supplies, equipment, and linen in the operating rooms and supply carts.
- Assist with the collection and transportation of supplies, medications, and equipment as needed.
- Notify the manager or designate of broken equipment and initiate repairs or replacements.
- Work with volunteers to navigate patients to pre-operative change rooms.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Two years of recent related hospital medical/surgical supply experience required.
- Medical Device Reprocessing (MDRD) or Sterile Supply Processing certificate is required.
- Working knowledge of medical supplies required.
- Surgical experience is a strong asset.
- Able to handle physical requirements of the job (ability to lift 25-30 pounds repeatedly).
- Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.
