Job Title: Unit Aide, Operating Room

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Aide to join our Operating Room team at Humber River Health. As a Unit Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical units, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our clinical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock and maintain supply carts, ensuring that all necessary items are readily available for our clinical teams.
  • Assist with the collection and transportation of medical supplies, equipment, and linen.
  • Notify the Manager or Designate of any broken equipment or supplies that require repair or replacement.
  • Work collaboratively with our volunteers to navigate patients through the surgical and plastic clinic areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager or Designate.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Two years of recent related hospital medical/surgical supply experience.
  • Medical Device Reprocessing (MDRD) or Sterile Supply Processing certificate is required.
  • Working knowledge of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.
