CB Canada is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly operating statements, assisting in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial statements, and ensuring that all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with ASPE.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare monthly operating statements and assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial statements for operating companies
- Work closely with other members of the team to ensure that transactions are entered into the system in a timely manner
- Ensure that all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with ASPE
- Prepare the CAM statements yearly for commercial properties
- Prepare government remittances and ensure timely filings
- Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
- Provide budget versus actual variance analysis
- Ensure to meet department's objectives by defining individual objectives
- Other duties will be assigned as required

Requirements

- 1+ years of experience performing full-cycle Accounting and related monthly reporting
- Knowledge of Newstar, Yardi or Great Plains is considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of Caseware or other financial statement preparation software is considered a strong asset
- Enrollment in CPA program preferred
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to exercise good judgment, demonstrate initiative and pro-activeness
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Sound work ethics
- Knowledge of the Office suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Proven ability to problem solves, to think strategically, and to take initiative
