Accounting Clerk Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for preparing monthly operating statements, quarterly and year-end financial statements, and ensuring all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly operating statements and assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial statements for operating companies
  • Work closely with other members of the team to ensure that transactions are entered into the system in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with accounting standards
  • Prepare government remittances and ensure timely filings
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
  • Provide budget versus actual variance analysis
  • Ensure to meet department's objectives by defining individual objectives

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience performing full-cycle accounting and related monthly reporting
  • Knowledge of accounting software, such as Newstar, Yardi, or Great Plains
  • Knowledge of financial statement preparation software, such as Caseware
  • Enrollment in CPA program preferred
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, demonstrate initiative, and pro-activeness
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Sound work ethics
  • Knowledge of the Office suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • Proven ability to problem solve, think strategically, and take initiative
