Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at Definity. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in providing financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial accounting, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations.
  • Conduct variance analysis to explain changes and identify key trends, and prepare schedules and analysis to support financial statement reporting disclosures.
  • Prepare statutory filings, including OSFI reporting requirements for Property and Casualty Insurance companies, and support the accounts payable function.
  • Support the annual budget and quarterly forecast process, and work to continuously enhance current processes and reports in terms of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Mentor and train junior level analysts, and act as a mentor for CPA students.
Requirements
  • Completed university degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • CPA designation (consideration given where designation is imminent).
  • 3-5 years of relevant finance experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong MS Excel and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter who can identify opportunities for improvement and execute on them.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet firm deadlines.
